Gregory A. Knott

North American Parts and Service

Greg Knott was named chief information officer for GM North American Parts and Service on December 1, 2000. In this position, Knott, is responsible for all information systems and services provided to Service Parts and Operations, Service Operations and Saturn, including Canada and Mexico. He is also responsible for the worldwide coordination of common parts and service systems.

In June 1998, Knott began his GM career as information officer at SPO. In May 2000, he was named director, product development and services at eGM until his current assignment.

Knott spent 25 years with Deere & Company in various information technology capacities. Immediately prior to joining GM, he was manager, parts systems and logistics at the John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan, Ill. In that position he served as divisional chief information officer for the parts division and was a member of the enterprise-wide Systems Integrator's Council.

He holds a bachelor-of-science degree in computer science from Iowa State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. Knott is currently chairman of the board for OE Connection - a parts and service Internet portal joint venture between GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, and Bell+Howell.
