2007 SAAB 9-5: A BENCHMARK FOR MIDSIZE LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE

The 2007 9-5 lineup continues to offer a well-rounded package of performance, luxury and value in the midsize sport sedan category.

Because the 2006 9-5 underwent a thorough refresh, changes for 2007 are minimal. An Anniversary Special Edition debuts midyear, featuring Ice Blue Metallic exterior paint, a specific leather interior and 17-inch wheels.

The 2007 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi feature a sophisticated, aircraft-inspired design inside and out, and both models have optional Aero and Visibility Packages.

The Aero Package includes a sport chassis, sport seats, metallic interior trim and an “Aero” badge; the Visibility Package offers Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking assist.

All 9-5 models are powered by a single 2.3L I-4 Turbo with 260 horsepower (194 kW), and 258 lb.-ft. of torque (350 Nm), mated to manual five-speed or optional automatic Sentronic transmissions.

As in 2006, the front suspension benefits from increased spring rates on the sport chassis, increased damping on the sport and standard chassis, and a larger anti-roll bar on the standard chassis. The power steering system was recalibrated to increase steering effort and improve feedback and precision.

The rear suspension features a larger anti-roll bar and softer springs on the standard chassis, reduced toe-in for more predictable behavior, and increased track. Damping has been increased on the standard and sport chassis.

The 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi ride on new 235/45 R17 all-season tires and 17 x 7.5-inch alloy wheels.

Standard equipment

Although the Sedan and SportCombi come with unique equipment and appointments, both versions have the following standard features:

Additionally, all 9-5 models benefit from the following standard safety features:

OnStar-equipped 9-5s will feature OnStar digital equipment. This includes enhanced hands-free voice recognition capabilities including more intuitive continuous digit dialing and improved voice recognition accuracy. OnStar is the leading provider of in-vehicle safety, security and information services in the United States and Canada . Using the GPS satellite network and wireless technology, OnStar features core safety services and OnStar Hands-Free Calling that allows drivers to make and receive voice-activated phone calls using an externally mounted antenna for greater reception.
