OnStar was recently honored at the 2003 Telematics Update Awards banquet in Detroit, receiving awards for Telematics Industry Leadership; Telematics in Action; and the Heroes award for call center advisors.

OnStar Voted Last Gadget Standing at 2002 International CES
Jan 14, 2002 - OnStar was voted the gadget to most likely stand the test of time, according to audience participants of the January 9, 2002, “Last Gadget Standing” SuperSession at 2002 International CES. The SuperSession, hosted by Robin Raskin of Ziff Davis Media, invited eight companies to demonstrate their newest technology to an audience of several hundred CES attendees. Following the presentations, the audience voted on which device they believed would be the “last gadget standing” – or which product would continue to be successful over time. The results of the vote, hosted by Ziff Davis Media, clearly declared OnStar as the last gadget standing.

Reader’s Choice Award Winner – Best Speech Deployment
Aug 11, 2001 - OnStar was honored with a Reader’s Choice Award in the first ever Peak Performance Awards from Speech Technology Magazine.  OnStar received recognition in the Best Speech Deployment category for its successful development of OnStar Virtual Advisor.

21st Century Achievement Award - Computerworld Honors Program
Jun 05, 2001 - Computerworld Honors Program gave OnStar Virtual Advisor the coveted 21st Century Achievement Award in the Transportation category for its contributions to the global information technology revolution and its impact on society.

VITA Wireless Samaritan Award – Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA)
May 24, 2001 - In 2001, OnStar subscriber Rev. R. David Keith of New Jersey was honored with a VITA Wireless Samaritan Award for using his OnStar emergency service to help police apprehend a criminal and rescue a woman from a kidnapping in progress. VITA, Latin for "life," is the annual award from CTIA given to individuals who use their wireless service to assist others in times of emergency. Keith was the first telematics customer to be honored with a VITA Award.

Batman Advertising Campaign

Boss Kettering Award
Jan 01, 1999 - Every year, General Motors recognizes employees for developing outstanding innovations encompassing a wide range of technologies that provide significant benefit to the corporation, its customers and employees.  In 1999, OnStar employees were honored with the Boss Kettering Award for the first implementation of a national wireless network using a non-geographic area code (500) to deliver OnStar mobile communication services.

This network protects OnStar from fraudulent practices, such as telephone number cloning, and enables subscribers direct access to OnStar's safety, security and information services.
