Greg Martin

Executive Director, Communications Strategy and News Operations, General Motors

Greg Martin was named Executive Director, Communications Strategy and News Operations effective March 1, 2012 with responsibility for GM’s communications strategy, reputation management, research, issues management, crisis communications and media measurement. 

In addition, Martin leads news operations, including news strategy, management and media execution; broadcast media relations and operations; and social media and digital communications.  Prior to this assignment Martin was Director, Public Policy and Washington Communications.    Martin joined GM in 1992 as a media relations specialist for Saturn’s sales, service and marketing operations. 

Prior to re-joining GM in 2006, he led overall communications operations for the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, as well as holding communications positions with the Department of Defense and the U.S. Navy.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications from Mount Saint Mary's University, Emmitsburg, MD.
