Media Alert: Chevrolet, Michelle Kwan Host 10 Scholarship Winners At Santa Monica Beach Party

WHO:
Chevrolet, Michelle Kwan and 10 female student-athletes from across the country, one from Burbank, Calif.

WHAT:
The inaugural Chevrolet/Michelle Kwan R.E.W.A.R.D.S. (Recognizing Excellence of Women in Academics & Rewarding Dynamic Student-athletes) Scholarship Program will name the first 10 winners of its college scholarship totaling $50,000. R.E.W.A.R.D.S. recognizes and assists outstanding college-bound female athletes from across the country.

WHY:
Marissa Mike, from Burbank, Calif., and nine other $5,000 scholarship winners will meet Michelle Kwan for the very first time at a Santa Monica Beach Party, thrown by Chevrolet. Marissa is a graduate of John Burroughs High School where she was a member of the varsity tennis and track teams and plans to attend Stanford University in the fall. These young women will be rewarded with a medal from Michelle and have the opportunity to get to know the real Michelle during a volleyball match and lunch.

• 10:10 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. Media Q&A and photo opportunities with Michelle Kwan and scholarship winners
  
• 10:40 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Michelle Kwan and scholarship winners will get to know one another by playing some beach volleyball. Photo and b-roll opportunity for the media.
  
• 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Michelle Kwan will have lunch with the scholarship winners. Separate lunch available for media.
