(NYSE: GM) today announced 2013 calendar-year net income attributable to common stockholders of $3.8 billion, or $2.38 per fully diluted share, down from $4.9 billion, or $2.92 per fully diluted share in 2012. Operating performance improved during the year, but was more than offset by a net loss from special items and incremental tax expense.

Total vehicle sales reported for the month were 50 806 with 34 267 of those being passenger vehicles and 13 719 light commercial vehicles.

Monthly vehicle sales statistics for October, released by the Department of Trade and Industry today, show a continued loss in momentum in vehicle sales after four years of positive growth. Year-on-year sales do however remain in the black with 2013 still set to be a growth year for the South African motor industry.

(NYSE: GM) today announced third quarter net income to common stockholders of $0.7 billion or $0.45 per fully diluted share, down from $1.5 billion or $0.89 per fully diluted share a year ago. Improvement in operating performance during the quarter was more than offset by a net loss from special items and incremental tax expense.

Total sales of 54281 vehicles were reported for the month (excluding 505 sales by GWM who do not fully comply with reporting criteria), a number that is 1,5% down on the same month last year.
