JOHANNESBURG – April sales results released by NAAMSA show an overall total market of 40 390 for the month, a decline of 9.2% versus April 2015.
DETROIT – General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) sold 2.36 million vehicles globally in the first quarter of 2016. The company delivered on its sales priorities, led by strong results in the SUV and luxury segments in China and retail performance in the U.S.

JOHANNESBURG – Total industry sales for February totaled 48 149 units as reported by NAAMSA. The overall industry was 8.1% down versus February 2015, which is consistent with the year to date decline of 7.6%. Passenger car sales for the month were down 6.1% vs February 2015 with sales to rental companies partially offsetting the declining sales through the dealer channel. Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales were down 13.1% in February, however we expect some recovery in LCV sales in March with new entries into the market.

(NYSE: GM) today announced an increase to its 2016 earnings per share adjusted outlook to between $5.25 and $5.75, up from the prior outlook of $5.00 to $5.50 provided on Oct. 1, 2015. JOHANNESBURG – General Motors South Africa (GMSA) finished 2015 off on a strong note, posting the best sales results of the year for Chevrolet, Opel and Isuzu. In December, GMSA sold a total of 5 231 vehicles achieving a market share of 10.6%. Although NAAMSA domestic sales declined by 4.2% vs December last year, GMSA posted a sales gain of 18.6% versus December last year.

Delegates and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy this week visited the General Motors South Africa (GMSA) Struandale plant in Port Elizabeth. The delegation was led by Dr Chakarin Komolsiri (front), Trade Commissioner of the Thai Embassy. 05 May 2015 – April NAAMSA new vehicles sales showed a decrease of 10 913 units vs March 2015. Total industry volume was 44 503 units, down 3.3 percent vs April 2014. The main factor behind the significantly lower sales this April was the number of public holidays.

Queenstown - Seventeen cyclists who endured a gruelling nine days on the road for the 1965 Ride and backed by three support crew, received a hero’s welcome when they peddled into Queen’s College in Queenstown on Thursday.
On 8th April, 15 amateur cyclists left Heidelberg just south of Johannesburg, to undertake the fifth 1965Ride - a nine day, 850km epic road cycle to raise funds for education in the poverty stricken town of Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The ride will culminate on the 16th of April at Queenstown College, where learners from 5 surrounding schools will be waiting to welcome the cyclists home.
