GM Recycles 2 Million Flint Water Bottles into Fleece


General Motors is adding 2 million water bottles from Flint, Michigan residents into its Do Your Part water bottle recycling initiative. The company partnered with Schupan Recycling to collect the bottles. The plastic is washed, flaked and turned into fleece to make three products: Chevrolet Equinox V-6 engine covers, insulation for The Empowerment Plan coats for the homeless, and air filters for 10 GM plants.

Chevy Bolt EV Plant Ranks 8th among Green Power Users


The General Motors Orion Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Bolt EV ranks as the eighth largest user of green power generated onsite in the United States among the Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership Partners. Over half of the plant is powered by methane captured from decomposing trash in a nearby landfill.

GM Reports Second-Quarter Net Income of $2.9 Billion, Up 157 Percent


General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) today announced strong second-quarter net income to common stockholders of $2.9 billion, up 157 percent compared to $1.1 billion in the second quarter of 2015. Earnings per share (EPS) diluted was a strong $1.81, compared to $0.67 in the second quarter a year ago.

GM Declares Dividend on Common Stock


General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) today declared a third quarter 2016 dividend of 38 cents per share on the company’s common stock. The third quarter dividend is payable Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 to all common stockholders of record as of Friday, Sept. 9, 2016.
