Duncan Aldred was named U.S. Vice President of Buick and GMC in 2014. In this position, he provides senior leadership and strategic direction for U.S. Buick and GMC sales, service and marketing.
In his current role, Aldred continues to work to further develop a brand strategy and sales plan for Buick. His goal in this role is to increase consideration and positive opinion for the Buick brand and bring new customers to the showroom. For GMC, Aldred hopes to continue the strong sales momentum that the brand has gained over the years and launch the new GMC truck line, including the Sierra and the Canyon, fully into the market.
Prior to joining Buick, Aldred was Chairman and Managing Director for Vauxhall Motors. In 2013 he was named acting Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales for Opel/Vauxhall, based in Germany.
Since joining General Motors in 1990, Aldred has held a number of positions. He started his career with GM at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant. He worked in various positions in Vauxhall Sales and Marketing before becoming Vauxhall retail sales director in 2004. In 2006, he was appointed Managing Director for Opel and Chevrolet southeast Europe, based in Hungary. In 2009, he was appointed Sales Operations Director for Opel/Chevrolet, based in Germany.
Aldred holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Liverpool John Moores University in England.
In his spare time, Aldred likes to surf, listen to music and watch sports. Aldred is married with three children.
