Stephanie Spivey builds rotor laminations Monday, April 15, 2013 at the General Motors Baltimore Operations facility - where GM manufactures electric motors for the Chevrolet Spark EV in White Marsh, Maryland. GM, the first domestic automaker to build electric motors and drive units in the United States - designed and developed the Spark EV motor and drive unit to produce 140 hp (105 kW) and 400 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds.
