Facility Details

The GM Spring Hill Manufacturing facility is located in Spring Hill, a growing community 40 miles south of Nashville. The plant lies within the borders of Maury County. The facility produced Saturn vehicles from July 30, 1990 until March 2007. The facility produced the Chevrolet Traverse from September 2008 until November 2009. Currently, the site manufacturing operations consist of a flexible vehicle assembly plant producing the Chevrolet Equinox, an engine plant making 4-cylinder engines, a stamping plant, two polymer injection molding operations and one painting operation for bumper fascias. These manufactured engines and other components are supplied to various GM assembly plants around the globe.

  • 4/23/14: Spring Hill produces 4 millionth Ecotec Engine
  • 9/4/12: Spring Hill begins production of the Chevrolet Equinox
  • 8/8/12: Spring Hill launches 2.5L Ecotec engine
  • 3/23/12; Spring Hill produces 3,000,000th Ecotec Engine

  • 9/10: $483 million for the all-new Ecotec 4-cylinder engine and increase in Ecotec engine production capacity
  • 2007-2010: $58 million to support upgrades to the 2.4L engine for E85 capability; production of the new 2.0L turbo w/direct injection for 100% export to Europe, and upgrades to 2.4L engine for direct injection technology

  • Buick Regal (Oshawa), Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia & Buick Enclave (LDT), Chevrolet Malibu & Buick Lacrosse (Fairfax), Chevrolet Express & GMC Savana vans (Wentzville), Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Colorado and Canyon, Chevrolet Tahoe & GMC Yukon (Arlington), subassemblies (Marion) and two tier-two suppliers.

Components Applications:

  • The Components operation molds interior and exterior components and paint fascias. These components are either shipped to tier-one suppliers that assemble and sequence parts to Lansing Delta Township (LDT), or they are shipped to the Ryder sequencing center to be sequenced in with the other product lines produced at Lansing Delta Township. In addition, the Components operation produces fascias for the Chevrolet Corvette, assembled in Bowling Green, Ky.
