Good morning.

It's great to have you with us.

We're very excited to introduce the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala.

This is the 10th generation of Impala… an iconic automotive nameplate that goes back more than 50 years to 1958.

The best Impalas were bold and powerful, instant classics… as evidenced by the '65 and '66 Impalas that we brought along with us today.

The 1959 Impala drew some controversy with its cat's-eye tail lamps and batwing fins…

The 1962 Impala SS was an icon of the muscle era, with its optional 409 cubic-inch and 409 HP V8 that inspired the Beach Boys song.

And in 1965, we sold more than 1 million Impalas.

When it arrives next spring, the 2014 Impala will be the best Impala ever, even though we may not sell a million of them.

This car reestablishes what a Chevrolet flagship is by drawing on a rich heritage of bold and expressive design.

We didn't need to borrow our design from someone else's luxury brand to make a strong statement with Impala.

This car is an authentic and contemporary Chevrolet both in style and substance.

And I personally couldn't be happier that we're adding it to what is already a powerhouse passenger car lineup at Chevrolet.

Today's Impala has done everything asked of it and more.

The next Impala will separate itself from any Impala from any era, and from the competition, as well.

That was our goal throughout its development, and I can't wait to see how you like it, and how Chevy customers like it.

Right now I'd like to turn things over to a man who has put his heart and soul into this car.

I've admired his design work for years, and I'm thrilled that he was able to put his imprint on our new Impala.

The 2014 Impala is the result of leveraging the creative spirit of the Chevrolet Design Studio and unleashing it on a car with an incredibly rich design heritage.

The best Impala designs had an essence that was easily recognized.

I'm talking about a strong confident stance… flowing lines… simple and memorable body styling… the kind of design you can easily draw in 3 or 4 bold strokes of a designer's pencil.

It's that simplicity that allows the underlying performance of the car to come through.

We wanted to create a sedan that had reach…

A sedan that was expressive… boldly sculpted… an Impala that would become a contemporary classic.

Up front you'll see a more premium execution of the 'Face of Chevrolet' that begins to move us in a new direction.

Low-profile projector headlamps enable a full-width grille that accentuates the car's wide stance.

LED Daytime Running Lights with thick-to-thin detailing give a look that's rich and assertive.

Impala's wheelbase allows for a long, low profile with a sleek

6-window roofline that flows deep into the decklid -- a decklid that conceals a full-size trunk by the way.

The 20" wheels highlight a body side with plenty of visual impact.

It's highly sculpted and constantly moving, revealing its beauty wherever you look.

In back, the 4-element tail lamps have direction and style, while the raised I-M-P-A-L-A lettering is precise and elegant.

It's finished off with twin stainless steel exhaust outlets.

And we didn't stop with the exterior.

The Impala's interior creates an equally dramatic design statement with craftsmanship, style and intuitive integration of the latest technology.

It is well appointed, spacious, and there was a high priority on comfort and refinement.

Chevrolet's signature dual-cockpit design is expressed with

eye-catching new forms.

There's a fashion-forward palette with high-quality materials and

elevated touches like contrast stitching and subtle ambient lighting to convey a look that's tailored and custom.

The overall effect we were striving for is that of an iconic Chevrolet… bold and expressive… yet timeless in its execution and design.

Thank you, John.

Well as great as this car looks, there's plenty more to discover about the new Impala.

Like the refined driving dynamics.

It's engineered to achieve that perfect blend that allows you to feel connected to the road without being punished by it.

And this car is packed with segment-leading technology.

For instance, the new Impala will offer Chevrolet MyLink with enhanced connectivity, customizable screens in the center console and instrument cluster… plus Bluetooth audio streaming.

We'll also offer several active safety features that are new to Chevrolet, like full-speed-range adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation braking…

And some firsts for Impala include forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

Customers will have three different powertrains to choose from.

The 303 HP 3.6L V6 with 0-to-60 performance of

6.8 seconds…

The new 2.5L 4-cylinder, estimated to deliver more than


And for truly outstanding fuel economy, we'll be offering the 2.4L 4-cylinder with the award-winning eAssist technology.

We expect fuel economy to come in at 35 mpg highway or more… promising better mileage than several hybrids, without the added cost or complexity.

Put it all together, and Impala offers expressive design, the brand's best technologies, the most refined materials, and the ideal balance of power, size and efficiency.

Everything you'd expect of Chevrolet's top-of-the-line sedan.

As Mark mentioned, Impala completes the total refresh of the Chevrolet passenger car line-up -- giving Chevrolet the freshest car portfolio in the business.

Nearly every passenger car in the lineup has been revamped in the last 24 months, and they're attracting new customers to our showrooms… helping to make Chevrolet "America's best-selling passenger car brand" in 2011.

But we're not stopping.

We will continue to make improvements throughout the line-up, starting with the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse…

The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse offers families a new gathering place. It has a more athletic exterior presence with a family resemblance to our passenger cars.

The interior is more refined with premium materials, and several technology upgrades.

Like the available MyLink infotainment system…

and several new safety technologies that make Traverse even safer than before…

Including the industry's first front-center side air bag.

It deploys between the two front seats to provide additional restraint to front occupants in side impacts.

And that's all in addition to Traverse's class-leading roominess and seating for 8 adults that has made it a family favorite since it was first introduced.
