Brian K. Sweeney was named U.S. Sales and Service Vice President for Buick GMC in March of 2010. In that role he is responsible for sales distribution, retail advertising, dealer network, incentives, service, managing dealer relationships and reinforcing the company’s focus on the customer for Buick and GMC vehicles.
During his 20-year career at GM, Brian held numerous sales and marketing positions, including regional management positions in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit. He began his career as a district sales manager with GMC, and has worked on all of GM’s brands, including an assignment as vice president of sales for Saab Cars USA.
Prior to being named vice president of Sales and Service for Buick GMC, he was general manager for Buick GMC. Previously he was the general sales manager for Buick-Pontiac-GMC. During that time he led the difficult task of winding down the Pontiac brand, restructuring the sales and dealer organizations, while simultaneously leading his Sales team to successfully launch products aimed at transforming the Buick and GMC brands.
He is a graduate of the University of Detroit and holds a master’s in business degree from Central Michigan University.
