DUBAI – The Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) at the American University in Dubai (AUD) concluded the first edition of the Student Short Film Festival ON: Original Narrative last night with an awards ceremony where student filmmakers, jury members, and AUD community members hit the glamorous red carpet for the closing night. The event was attended by Mr. Elias Bou Saab, AUD Executive Vice President, Dr. Jihad Nader, AUD Provost/Chief Academic Officer, and Mr. Ali Jaber, Dean of MBRSC, who took to the stage to honor the winners and the jury. Film Director Sophie Boutros, Student Affairs and Communication Manager at MBRSC and Chair of the Festival’s committee, commented: “A large number of films were submitted for the competition, and the committee was able to select a group of high-quality films despite the intensity of the competition between the nominated entries. We are very proud of the success of this first edition of the ON: Original Narrative, and we look forward to next year’s edition!”

The workshop proved to be an engaging and interactive platform for students to fine-tune their digital storytelling prowess and expand their knowledge of the Cadillac brand.
DUBAI - The Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) at the American University in Dubai (AUD) announced the countdown for its first long awaited ‘ON: Original Narrative – Student Short Film Festival’, a short film festival for students from all across the world, during a press conference in collaboration with the festival’s Platinum sponsor Cadillac. Numerous entries were submitted from Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Netherlands, Morocco, Ireland, USA, France, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait and Syria, for the festival’s different categories: documentary, fiction, animation, webisode and script. The entries were selected by a committee of international experts from the film industry and as a result, up to 60 films were nominated to enter the competition.
