Premium feel for Europe's midsize segment

  • Segment: Midsize

The Chevrolet Malibu is the eighth generation of a highly successful nameplate in North America and the first to be sold in Europe.

Its grounded stance, broad shoulders and an integrated rear spoiler combine to give the Malibu an assertive, confident posture. The Malibu's silhouette and its bodywork exhibit a high level of aerodynamic refinement.

Further exterior design cues include Chevrolet's signature dual-port grille, framed by body-color lower fascia, powerful halogen or xenon headlamps and new Camaro-inspired dual-element tail lamps.

Inside, the dual cockpit cabin design offers an inviting, spacious and comfortable environment with plenty of head, shoulder and hip room. Metallic or chrome accents and Chevrolet ice-blue ambient lighting in various locations in the cockpit add to the car's interior refinement. Noise-deadening materials have been extensively applied for a quiet, relaxed ride.

A radio with CD player and six speakers are standard. Mid and up-level models feature a USB jack and can be equipped with a navigation system and nine speakers. Up-level specifications also enable Bluetooth wireless connectivity for hands-free use of mobile phones. Storage opportunities on up-level models include a radio face that articulates up and down to reveal a stowage area behind its 7-inch touch-screen radio display.

Customers can choose between a powerful 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel with Start/Stop or a 2.4L gasoline engine with a power output of 160 hp and 167 hp, respectively.

In terms of ride and handling, the Chevrolet Malibu has been engineered to meet the needs and preferences of European drivers. Chassis control technologies include four-channel Anti-lock Brakes, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, and Brake Assist.

The Malibu has been awarded a top five-star rating by Euro NCAP, the European New Car Assessment Program. A total of six airbags, three-point safety belts and active head restraints are standard safety features in Europe. Rear park assist is available on mid- and standard on up-level offerings. Upper trims feature a standard rearview camera. An emergency stop signal is activated on all variants of the Malibu during severe braking.

Chevrolet continues to provide warranty, service and parts through its service network to all existing and new Malibu owners. Parts are expected to be available for a minimum of 10 years after the original sale of a new car.
