Fact File: Corvette
More Powerful and Refined than Ever
- Segment: Sports car
- In model range since: 2005
The sixth-generation Corvette was developed for pure sports-car duty and marked a real breakthrough for the American sports car in Europe. A principal step was the introduction of the 6.2L V8 LS3, replacing the 6.0L V8. This engine raised performance levels to 437 hp (321 kW) @ 5,900 rpm and 575 Nm @ 4,600 rpm, assuring an impressive top speed of 300 km/h. It can be combined with either the six-speed manual transmission or the six-speed automatic.
Corvette exemplifies a true sports car that is also safe and comfortable for everyday driving. It offers an array of standard features and equipment including head-up display that projects important data on the windshield in plain view of the driver, heated seats with memory positions, a power telescoping steering column, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and a Bose® seven-speaker audio system.
Magnetic selective ride control is standard, too, and enables nearly instantaneous adjustment of damping at each corner. Together with the car’s first-rate chassis, this feature contributes to what is ultimately an unforgettable driving experience.
The 2013 Corvette coupe is available with the special 60th anniversary package which includes:
- arctic white exterior with racing stripes in pearl silver blue
- ZR1 rear spoiler
- 60th anniversary badging and embroidery
- grey brake calipers
- diamond blue leather wrapped interior
