Dr. Thomas Sedran has served as President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe since July 1, 2013. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and oversees the growth of Chevrolet and Cadillac across Western and Central Europe. In this capacity, Sedran is responsible for the business strategy and oversees marketing, sales, service, distribution and parts in cooperation with 1,900 dealers in 38 European countries. In addition, he is a member of the GM Korea Board of Directors.
Before joining Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, he was a member of the Management Board of Adam Opel AG (since April 1, 2012) in charge of Operations, Business Development and Corporate Strategy and responsible for developing and implementing business strategies for the long-term growth of the company in Europe and beyond. During this time, he also served as the interim CEO of Adam Opel AG from June 12, 2012 until February 13, 2013.
Sedran spent most of his career as a management consultant in the automotive industry. From 2006 to 2012, he was in charge of automotive business affairs for global management consultants AlixPartners, based in Munich, Germany, working very closely with Opel/Vauxhall, on the restructuring of the European operations. Before that he spent 12 years at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants (1994-2006), where he last was in charge of the Competence Automotive Center on a global level.
Born on October 13, 1964, in Augsburg, Germany. He has a Master's degree in business administration from the University of Hohenheim in Germany and a Ph.D. from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
