Thomas G. (Tom) Folger joined Chevrolet Europe on April 1, 2011, as Director, Product and Program Planning. In this position, he leads an organization responsible for product marketing, advanced product planning, new business development and long term forecasting.
Tom was born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A., on April 1, 1966. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oakland University and an MBA degree in Marketing from Michigan State University.
Tom started his General Motors career in 1994 in the North American Product Research team in Detroit. From 1997, he managed the Product Research team in Sao Paulo, Brazil, responsible for LAAM (Latin American, Africa and Middle East). In 2000, he returned to Detroit, where he held a number of marketing management positions, including Advertising, Product Marketing, Product Portfolio Development and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Most recently, he was Manager, CRM Communications, in the Customer Lifecycle Management department within GM's North American Sales team.
