James W. (Jim) Bunnell has been Vice President, Sales, for Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe since December 1, 2012. In this position, he is responsible for all Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe sales activities in Western and Central Europe. The Managing Directors of all the Chevrolet national sales companies and the independent distributors report to him. He is also responsible for sales operations, dealer network development, corporate fleet sales and GM's operations in Israel. Prior to this position Jim had been Vice President Dealer Network and Sales Operations for Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, which he joined February 1, 2012.
Jim Bunnell was born in Colorado, U.S.A. in 1955. He holds a Bachelor's degree from State University of New York – College at Fredonia and an Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University.
He joined General Motors in 1979 with the Pontiac Motor Division. After assignments in Finance, Planning, Manufacturing and Sales in Pontiac, Bunnell joined GM's North American Operations in the Product Planning organization. He rejoined Pontiac in 1995 as the Brand Manager for Grand Am and Sunfire, overseeing the successful re-launch of the Grand Am in 1998.
In 1999, Bunnell was appointed the Regional Marketing Manager for Pontiac-GMC in the newly formed North Central Region. A short time later, he was named Regional Sales Manager followed a year later by a move to the position of Regional General Manager of the Northeast Region, a position he held until his assignment as the General Manager of Pontiac and GMC in 2004. In March, 2005, he was named General Manager of the North Central Region based in Chicago, IL. He returned to Detroit as General Manager of Pontiac, Buick and GMC in the spring of 2007.
In June 2008, Jim was named General Manager of the U.S. Sales Support Group of General Motors. In that assignment, he was responsible for Channel Sales, Support Groups (including Order Fulfillment, Industry Dealer Affairs, and Retail Initiatives) for all GM brands.
