Ofori Agboka joined Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe as Director, Human Resources, on April 1, 2013. In this role, Ofori leads the human resources efforts for both brands in Europe, working closely with the HR representatives in all of the markets as well as other European constituents.
Ofori was born in Lansing, Michigan, U.S.A. on April 7, 1976. He has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University.
He began his career as a GM intern in 1996 and upon graduation, held positions in Manufacturing and Labor Relations in Arlington, Texas, U.S.A., and Pontiac, Michigan, U.S.A. In 2003, he moved to Human Resources as the representative for the North American Pre-Production Operations in Warren, Michigan. In 2005, he was appointed to Personnel Director of the GM Powertrain facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia, U.S.A.
In 2007, Ofori moved to Shanghai, China, where he was the HR Manager for GM China and GM International Operations. During his three-year assignment, he partnered with multiple functions (Finance, Communications, IT and R&D) to develop and implement HR strategies and processes to support GM's growth in China and the company's International Operations.
Most recently, Ofori was HR Director for GM Global Design. In that role, which he held since 2010, he was responsible for HR and organizational development activities for Design employees at eleven design studios in seven countries around the world.
