The significant USD150 million investments to expand and modernize Indonesia’s Chevrolet manufacturing as well as its supporting facilitiesare part of the ongoing commitment to the people and the economy of Indonesia. With plant production capacity of 40,000 vehicles per year, Indonesian customers have direct access to high quality vehicle, the Chevrolet Spin which is built right here in Indonesia. (From an economic standpoint, the Chevrolet vehicles produced in Indonesia contain at least 40% materials that are produced locally, and the plant itself employs over 800 workers by the end of 2013).
Additionally, a key business strategy is to export vehicles to surrounding international markets and increasing Indonesia’s exports supports national growth and local businesses, attracts export income, and spurs further innovation.
