The Aveo RS show car is a sporty hot hatch, designed to appeal to a young clientele. It provides a preview of the next-generation Aveo. It has a wider stance than the current production Aveo, which makes it look much more aggressive. The Aveo RS demonstrates how progressive design can inject personality into a small car.
The Aveo RS show car is finished in electric Boracay Blue and wears Chevrolet design cues such as the two-tier horizontal grille, round tail lamps and fender flares. Exposed headlamps, with their brushed aluminum structural surround, are inspired by the designers' interest in motorcycles. The shape gets its energy from the diving belt and bodyside character line, well placed wheels, and the forward base of the windshield. At first glance, the car actually looks like a three-door hatch because the rear door handles are discreetly located in the "C"-pillar area.
The rear of the show car continues the sport theme, with an integrated spoiler, a center-mounted exhaust and chrome exhaust tips. The exposed rear tail lamps are again motorcycle-inspired.
The interior is matte black with gloss black, metallic and blue accents. The Electric Blue theme and the motorcycle inspiration are echoed inside with accent stitching across the dual cockpit instrument panel, ice-blue backlighting and the cool gauge cluster. The interior is as functional as it is stylish, with storage compartments in the center stack and doors. The rear seats fold flat for carrying larger items.
The Aveo RS is powered by a gutsy 140-horsepower 1.4-liter Ecotec turbocharged engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
