Beijing – General Motors and its joint ventures will show 37 vehicles at Auto China 2014, this year’s leading automotive exhibition in China, which begins on April 20 in Beijing.
DETROIT – In preparation for the next generation of electric vehicles and advanced battery technologies, General Motors will invest $449 million to upgrade manufacturing processes at Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly and Brownstown Battery Assembly plants.
Shanghai – General Motors and its joint ventures today sold their 1 millionth vehicle in China in 2014. This is the eighth consecutive year that GM has sold more than one million vehicles in a calendar year, and the earliest it has reached the 1 million mark.

SHANGHAI – General Motors and its joint ventures had record sales in China during March and the first quarter of 2014. Sales in March increased 7.8 percent on an annual basis to 313,283 units. This helped domestic sales in the first quarter reach 919,114 units – an increase of 12.6 percent from the year-ago period.
Shanghai – The GM China Advanced Technical Center (ATC) in Shanghai today announced the operation of its Vertical Squeeze Casting (VSC) machine – the first in the world designed for developing next-generation magnesium castings. This achievement marks a breakthrough in lightweight materials research by General Motors.
SHANGHAI – Shanghai GM has announced that the new Cadillac CTS luxury performance sedan will make its local debut in April at Auto China 2014 in Beijing. Pricing will be announced at that time.
RUESSELSHEIM – On top of four Insignia variants and the Zafira Tourer, which will be produced as of January 2015, the Ruesselsheim plant will get two additional vehicles later in the decade. This was decided by the Opel Supervisory Board at its meeting this week.
SHANGHAI – Shanghai GM officially launched the 2014 Cadillac XTS in China on March 21. The newest version of the popular luxury sedan that was introduced in the domestic market last year has an enhanced powertrain, new technology and additional premium features. The 28T Platinum Edition is priced at RMB 499,900.
Shanghai – Shanghai OnStar recently received the Best Brand Communication Award at the 2013 Best China Telematics Awards for its outstanding long-term contribution to the development of the domestic telematics industry. Shanghai – Shanghai GM will introduce the Chevrolet Trax in China in the second quarter of 2014. The new urban SUV is equipped with an efficient 1.4L turbocharged engine, on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) and Chevrolet’s signature styling.
