Director, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain
Sean Liang has served as director of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for GM China since June 1, 2011.
Liang began his career with GM in 1993 working with the company’s China joint ventures. From 1996-2000, he served as technical assistant to the president of FAW-Jinbei. He also held assignments with Jinbei GM (which later became SAIC-GM Norsom Motors) and SAIC-GM-Wuling, primarily helping set up greenfield projects, localizing vehicles and supporting supplier quality and development.
In 2005, Liang was assigned by GM to start and lead the supplier quality and development team for China sourcing. Within this capacity, he led a team of more than 100 engineers working with more than 400 Chinese suppliers. From 2009-2011, he served as executive director of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain at GM Holden in Australia.
