On February 1, 2015, Diane Jurgens joined Shanghai General Motors in the newly created role as Deputy General Director of the Connected Consumer Division, where she has responsibility for the connected vehicle strategy business unit as well as OnStar’s China business operations.
Jurgens was appointed Managing Director of Shanghai OnStar Telematics Co., Ltd. (Shanghai OnStar) on January 1, 2012, where she oversees business operations and strategic planning in China. Shanghai OnStar is a joint venture established by General Motors Company and the SAIC Group.
Previously, Jurgens served as Vice President and CIO of GM International Operations. Since joining General Motors in 1998, Jurgens has held other roles, including Director of Global Product Development Information Systems & Services, CIO of the GM China Group, and CIO of GM Asia Pacific. Prior to joining GM, she worked at The Boeing Company.
Jurgens has a strong technology background and rich international operations experience, including nine years working and living in China.
Jurgens graduated with honors from the University of Washington with a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in international business from Seattle University.
In September 2013, Jurgens received the Magnolia Award from the Shanghai Municipal Government for her contributions to the economic and social development of Shanghai.
