- Bold, Smart Appearance
The Encore has adopted the contemporary design language of the Buick brand, with its iconic front end highlighted by a chrome waterfall grille, coupe-style fastback lines and 18-inch wheels. The result is a masculine look that blends grace with individuality, which younger vehicle buyers in China prefer. The front and rear overhangs are short, making the Encore look dynamic while ensuring a roomy cabin.
Five exterior colors are initially available: Ruby Red, Mica Gray, Snow White, Glacier Silver and Pearl Black.
- Exquisite, Premium Interior
The interior of the Encore makes the driver the focal point. It features Buick's signature 360-degree, all-around integrated design. Detailed refinements can be found throughout the cabin, which incorporates Buick’s QuietTuning acoustic refinement. Customers have a choice of interior color combinations: Swallowtail Black, Swallowtail Black/Cardamom Beige and Swallowtail Black/Saddle Brown.
The Encore has room for five passengers and up to 1,372 liters of storage space. It comes with a 60/40 flat-folding rear seat along with 24 separate storage units to satisfy users’ needs for short commutes or longer trips. In addition, it is equipped with the new Buick IntelliLink voice-activated infotainment system and OnStar safety, security and communication service.
- Dynamic, Highly Efficient Powertrain
The Encore has an efficient Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, which generates maximum power of 103 kW @ 4,900-6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 1,850-4,900 rpm. This is similar to a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine. The engine is matched with a choice of an imported six-speed manual transmission or a new six-speed automatic/manual transmission.
The Encore is the most efficient vehicle in its class, with fuel consumption of 6.9 L/100 km. It fully complies with the advanced Euro V emission standard.
- Advanced, Proven Safety
The Encore has adopted Buick’s advanced body-frame-integral one-piece body structure. Nearly 75 percent of the body is made of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel. The SUV’s chassis was tuned by GM engineers in Europe.
The Encore handles wet, slippery roads and challenging driving conditions agilely. It comes with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Its intelligent all-wheel-drive system allocates torque to the front or rear according to actual driving needs. It can switch from intelligent to front drive mode and back in just two-tenths of a second, ensuring stability and safety.
Electric Power Steering (EPS), 18-inch Bridgestone Dueler tires and an advanced braking system offer superior maneuverability while further enhancing safety.
