DUBAI – Giving people in the GCC what they want is a strategy that is working well for General Motors according to their latest quarterly car sales figures. Q2 passenger car sales from GM’s Chevrolet and Cadillac brands across the region were up 10% compared with last year.
GM Middle East President and Managing Director, Maurice Williams says the result stems from the company’s deliberate focus on bringing a diverse, but carefully selected lineup of vehicles to the region.
“We have one of the most extensive ranges of vehicles from any auto manufacturer in the Middle East. But what’s most important to us is that we’re bringing the right types of cars here – cars that people are getting excited about and driving away in.”
GM achieves this by being in touch with its customers. The company acts on feedback from its customers about their needs and carefully considers which vehicles to bring to the region.
“We have recently introduced a number of new cars which have proved incredibly popular with our customers such as the all new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the Cadillac CTS. Last year we started selling the Chevrolet Impala flagship sedan. Although it is only a newcomer, it now accounts for almost a third of Chevrolet’s car sales for the last quarter,” said Williams.
“We have something to suit any customer. Regardless of whether they are looking at a compact or family sized Chevrolet or a luxury Cadillac, they’re finding value for money and great features in the GM range.”
GM’s efforts in listening to its customers extends to its Chevrolet Care, Cadillac Premium Care and GMC servicing programs. Extensive work is done behind the scenes to ensure that customers continue to have a great experience with their GM dealer as they bring their vehicle in for competitively priced, regular servicing with genuine GM and ACDelco parts.
