GM Media Website Privacy Statement

Your privacy is important to General Motors Company (GM), as is your trust in GM products and services. We want you to know that the information we collect will be treated with care.

Scope

This Privacy Statement explains how we handle personally identifiable information you share with GM through the GM Media Online website (http://media.gm.com) when you register for access to GM media information or when you register on line for special media events.

Personal Information Collection

We may ask you to provide us with personal information to verify your eligibility for access to the website or for participation in GM Media events. Information that may be requested on the GM Media website includes: business contact information, such as your name, address, email address, and telephone number; and business information, such as the company you represent, the type of media you represent, or the audience size for your publication. When you register for events we may also need to collect various data we need for the organization of the event such as travel data.

Uses

Personal Information about you may be used to respond to your request for more information about a product or service, to assist in your arrangements or credentials for GM media events, to customize content to better serve your needs, or for marketing and distributing services or products to you (such as sending press kits). Additionally, we may send you future communications regarding GM products and services.

If you provide personal information, it will be stored in our database in the United States. GM may share personal information collected (such as name, mailing address, and email address) internally within GM (including other GM-owned or partially owned companies), and with our suppliers for the exclusive purpose of providing services (for example, mailing information in response to your request for information, or processing an event registration form, including airline and hotel reservations for a media event). GM will not share your personal information with other third parties for their independent use without your permission.

We may disclose your personal information as required by law, in conjunction with a government inquiry, or in litigation or dispute resolution.
