Michael Filazzola was appointed to the position of Executive Director - Global Purchasing & Supply Chain in May 2011, and leads the organisation in Direct & Indirect Purchasing for GM Holden, development and quality assurance of suppliers and management of the inbound and outbound supply chain.
He began his career with GM Holden as a Supplier Development Engineer in 1995, where he was responsible for key Purchasing roles, including a Director position in GM China in 2009, where he led the Global Purchasing & Supply Chain organisation, with extended responsibility for its joint ventures in SGM, SGMW and FAW-GM.
Michael has been responsible for various roles within GM, including GPSC Director of Interior products for Asia Pacific in 2007, where he managed the commercial sustainability of multiple new products in Korea, Thailand and India.
Michael has an extensive background in commercial management and manufacturing and has held roles including Manager of Supplier Quality and Development in 2002 and the Direct Purchasing Manager in 2007 at GM Holden.
Michael has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. His interests include cycling, running and keeping fit and he enjoys spending time with his three children.
