Michael (Mike) Devereux is chairman and managing director of GM Holden Ltd. He is responsible for the organization’s business operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Devereux assumed the post on 22 March 2010, having previously served as president and managing director of GM Middle East Operations since 2008.
Devereux began his GM career in 1984 as a co-op engineering student at the GM of Canada St. Catharines Engine and Foundry Complex, where he worked in a variety of engineering and manufacturing roles.
He joined GM full time in 1989 with GM Service Parts Operations (SPO) – International and held numerous positions inside product development and sales for ACDelco and GM Parts. After leaving Parts and Service, Devereux served as launch manager for the 2000 Cadillac DeVille, working on the vehicle line team that developed the car.
After a brief stint with GM’s new e-Business unit as director of e-Sales, Devereux returned to Aftersales in 2001 as director of Service Merchandising for GM SPO. Two years later, he was appointed director of Business Management in GM’s Global Sales, Service and Marketing (GSSM) organization.
In 2005, Devereux took over as executive director of GM’s Digital Marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) efforts, including all web-based and direct marketing, database management and emerging media. He was also responsible for U.S. facing Call Center Operations based in Argentina, Canada, the United States and the Philippines.
Devereux holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the GMI Engineering & Management Institute and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University.
