

Steve Clarke was named Vice President of Technical Center for GM Daewoo Auto & Technology on June 1st, 2005. Prior to this role, he was Managing Director of GM Daewoo Vehicle and Powertrain Engineering from October 2002 to May 2005.
Clarke began his engineering career with General Motors in 1981 with Chevrolet Motor Division in Warren Michigan. While at Chevrolet, he held a number of engineering assignments with increasing responsibility. In 1990, he was promoted to System Manager, HVAC & Powertrain Cooling Development for Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM Canada.
Clarke transferred to the North American Engineering Centers in 1994 as an Engineering Group Manager in charge of advanced technology and development for HVAC, Powertrain Cooling and Thermal Systems. In 1997, Clarke was appointed, Director of Vehicle Aerodynamics and Thermal for GM North America. Clarke was appointed to Director of GM North America Powertrain Vehicle Hardware in January 2001 and then moved to Korea in May 2002.
Clarke was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 19, 1958. He earned a bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering at Western Michigan University in 1981 and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Management at Kettering University (GMI) in 1999.
