Josef Edlinger

Vice President, Global Purchasing & Supply Chain

Josef Edlinger was appointed vice president, global purchasing and supply chain, for GM Daewoo Auto & Technology in January 2006.

Edlinger began his career with General Motors in 1982 in materials management at Opel in Ruesselsheim, Germany.  He progressed through various positions of increasing responsibility and was named purchasing manager-electrical for GM Europe in 1992.

In 1995, he transferred to GM North America as global commodity manager.  He was appointed purchasing director-electrical at the GM Truck Group in Pontiac, Michigan, two years later.  He returned to Germany in July 1999 as director of advance purchasing for GM Europe.  Prior to his current assignment he was director, global purchasing and supply chain, for GM’s global epsilon program.

Edlinger is a native of Austria.  He graduated from the polytechnic school in Spittal, Austria.
