Opel: Investment of 50 Million Euros for Bochum Plant

With an investment of over 50 million euros, Adam Opel AG will modernize, over the coming months, the press shop at its Bochum production facility, which builds the Astra and Zafira models. Zafira Now with Most Powerful Diesel in its Class
Rüsselsheim. Opel is now offering a version of its seven-seat Zafira compact van with a 2.2-liter, direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine. This ultra-modern ECOTEC power unit develops 92 kW (125 hp) and has an impressive maximum torque of 280 Nm. With this engine the Zafira 2.2 DTI is the most powerful diesel in its class, with a top speed of 187 km/h.   more...

Opel Reports 87 Million Euro Net Profit
Rüsselsheim. Opel finished 2001 with a net profit of 87 Million Euro. Results from Opel´s domestic subsidiaries were reported according to U.S. GAAP accounting standards and for the first time included the results of Opel Bank GmbH, which contributed decisively to Opel´s net profit. The bank achieved a trading profit of 260 million Euro in 2001.   more...

Astra Cabrio - New Top-of-The-Line Turbo

GM "AUTOnomy" is World's First Car built around the Fuel Cell

Opel Vivaro Voted "International Van of the Year, 2002"
Rüsselsheim. A major success for Opel in the commercial-vehicle sector: the new Vivaro medium van and the Combo delivery van took first and second places when the votes were counted for the 2002 "International Van of the Year" title. The innovative Vivaro - and its sister-model, the new Renault Trafic - scored a runaway victory, with 115 of the total of 232 points.   more...
