Opel Zafira soon with Powerful Direct-Injection Turbo Diesel
Rüsselsheim. Diesel fans can look forward to a new version of the successful Opel Zafira: as of August 2000 the versatile seven-seater compact van will be available with a 74 kW/100 hp, 2.0 liter direct-injection turbo diesel. The 2.0 DTI 16V ECOTEC unit with charge-air intercooler develops a maximum torque of 230 Nm.   more...

Opel PR Management Board Member Horst Borghs Is Leaving the Company
Rüsselsheim. Horst P. Borghs, 53, Executive Director of Public Affairs, Government and Industry Relations, and a member of the Management Board of Adam Opel AG since 1989, has asked the company's Supervisory Boad to release him for personal reasons from his Management Board responsibilities, effective May 31, 2000. Ex Formula 1 driver Modena completes Opel's team
Ruesselsheim. Ex-Formula 1 driver Stefano Modena has now joined Opel to complete its DTM team. The 37-year-old Italian from Rome will take the wheel of one of the eight Opel Astra V8 Coupes that will be on the starting grid when the first race in the German Touring Car Masters season is held on May 28th on the Hockenheim Ring circuit.   more...
