Compact van premiere
Zafira Available with ESP
State-of-the-art active safety system
Rüsselsheim. The Opel Zafira 1.8 16V is the first compact van to offer ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as an option. ESP further increases the high safety reserves of the Zafira's sophisticated Dynamic Safety (DSA) chassis, especially under difficult driving conditions such as rain, snow or ice.
ESP recognizes via several sensors critical driving situations and helps the driver retain control by regulating engine torque and applying the brakes of individual wheels.
The Zafira features the latest generation, maintenance-free ESP from Bosch, which increases active safety without compromising driving comfort. A pre-load unit is no longer necessary, the pressure required for selective activation of the brakes is generated solely by the ABS pump. A flow-optimized brake master-cylinder ensures the efficiency of the control operation. This clever design has acoustic and cost benefits. In Germany, for example, the ESP-option on the Zafira is priced at DM 990.
