HUMMER H2 UPSCALE PERFORMANCE REDEFINES LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE FOR SPORT-UTILITY
MARKET
HUMMER
ups the ante of luxury and performance in the high-stakes sport-utility segment
with the introduction of the H2 Upscale Performance at the 2002 Specialty Equipment
Market Association (SEMA) show. Packing a whopping 450 horsepower under the hood,
the H2 conceals its muscle under a host of luxurious exterior and interior amenities.
The result is a vehicle that masks its sheer brawn with a healthy veneer of sophistication.
The H2 interior is luxuriously outfitted with a dark instrument panel that features carbon trim. The entertainment and climate-control panels are trimmed with an alloy trim plate. The leather-wrapped steering wheel pad provides clues to what will be available on the 2004 HUMMER. The interior is completed with neutral leather upholstery and floor mats.
Outside, the H2 continues the luxury theme with a new brush-guard design, satin-finish chrome exterior components, and billet alloy rear D-rings.
Beating beneath the luxurious upfits is a heart delivering 450 horsepower. The 6.0-liter, supercharged and intercooled engine sparks the H2 to smoothly handle both highway speeds and heavy-duty, off-road responsibilities. The vehicle also features a custom-built transmission-cooling system designed specifically for the H2. The powertrain includes custom-fabricated aluminum coil covers and carbon-fiber fuel rail covers.
No work of art - no matter how rugged - is complete without a complementary pedestal or frame, and the H2 is no exception. The H2 features 17-inch polished wheels and 37-inch BFG Krawler T/A tires. Front and rear suspension components were developed by Fabtech/Fox, and feature a remote reservoir.
