Riccardo Ventura

President and General Counsel
Riccardo Ventura is GM Europe Vice President and General
Counsel, based in Zurich, Switzerland, since November 1, 2008. In this
position, he has responsibility for all of the corporation's legal affairs in
Europe and serves as a member on the Europe Strategy Board.
Riccardo was born in Parma, Italy, on April 7, 1964. He
earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Università degli Studi di Parma,
Italy, in 1987 and a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center
in Washington D.C., U.S.A. in 1993.
Riccardo joined GM in May 2005 as General Counsel for General
Motors Powertrain Europe in Turin, Italy, a position he held until being
appointed to his current position in November 2008.
He has many years of experience in private practice, including
partnerships at the Italian law firms Pavia e Ansaldo and Studio Legale Ferreri,
and collaborations with the U.K. law firms Allen & Overy and Pinsent
Curtis.
He is also the author of a number of publications on corporate
and commercial law.
