RETAILER-INSTALLED ACCESSORIES READY FOR CUSTOMERS AS VUE HITS SHOWROOMS

Personalization will play an important part in expanding the versatility and appearance of the Saturn VUE. Right from market introduction, VUE customers can customize their vehicles to fit their individual tastes and lifestyles with a choice of more than 40 retailer-installed accessories that can be purchased and installed at Saturn retailers.

"The clean, contemporary design of the Saturn VUE makes it a natural for the growing customization trend, especially among young buyers with active lifestyles," said Jill Lajdziak, vice president of Saturn sales, service and marketing. "The VUE accessories are part of our overall Saturn Expression Series strategy to meet the needs of specific groups of customers."

The Saturn Expression Series encompasses Saturn's strategy for both accessories as well as limited-run factory-built vehicles. Saturn also is producing a build of 1,000 fully-loaded black L300 sedans and L300 wagons in the fall of 2001 to introduce a new DVD entertainment system. Also as part of the Saturn Expression Series, Saturn S-Series coupe owners can choose a variety of licensed customization components to add to the performance and personalize the appearance of their cars.

Specialty accessories and appearance products represent the largest growth segment of aftermarket products, with sales more than doubling from $1.8 billion to nearly $4 billion in the past decade. Young buyers who want to express their personalities are leading the trend, and it's expected that many of them will be attracted to the VUE by its affordability, quality, safety and flexibility to adapt to their varied activities.

"The VUE accessories include a number of interior and exterior offerings designed to customize the appearance or keep the vehicle looking new," said Dan Butler, marketing coordinator for Saturn Service Parts Operations (SPO). "These include body side graphics packages, interior trim kits and a variety of covers, mats, deflectors, guards and pads. Other accessories transform the VUE into a vehicle geared for a customer's favorite activities. For example, an innovative interior bike rack holds two bikes in the cargo area with the rear seats folded flat. There are also a variety of roof rack attachments for carrying bikes, skis, a canoe, kayak and other equipment."

Saturn SPO worked with leading aftermarket accessory manufacturers to design and validate accessories that promote customization of the VUE. Accessories purchased and installed at the time a customer takes delivery of a Saturn VUE will be covered by the 36-month/36,000 mile new-vehicle warranty. Accessories purchased and installed at a later time will be covered by a 12-month/12,000 mile warranty.

Following are retailer-installed accessories available for the Saturn VUE.

Interior

• Interior trim kits - two kits (brushed aluminum or carbon fiber appearance) complement existing interior trim
• Interior bike rack - mounts to cargo area floor with rear seats folded flat, holds two bikes ·
• Neoprene seat covers - custom fitted, water resistant, keeps seats clean and new
• Slip cover - custom fitted, water resistant, easily cleaned, rugged stormshield material, keeps seats clean and new
• Windshield sunshade - made of reflective film, keeps interior cooler when in direct sunlight
• Cargo mat - made of flexible PVC material, prevents spills from ruining rear cargo carpet
• Cargo net - helps secure items in cargo area
• Rubber floor mats - made of flexible PVC material, will keep mud and snow off carpet
• Cargo shade - keeps contents inside VUE out of sight and provides protection from sunlight
• Ashtray assembly - functional and attractive
• Glove box lock - secures valuables in glove box

• Vehicle cover - custom fitted, made of Triguard material
• Hood air deflector - made of black high-impact polymer, protects front of hood from stones and road debris
• Liftgate air deflector - made of black high-impact polymer, attaches to top edge of liftgate to divert air across rear window when driving, reducing accumulation of dust on rear window
• Front end cover - removable, protects against flying insects and loose gravel
• Side window air deflectors - made of black high-impact polymer, brings in fresh air while keeping out the weather
• Sunroof deflector - made of smoked high-impact polymer, attaches to sunroof opening to keep most wind from sneaking through
• Rail-to-rail sunroof deflector - made of black high-impact polymer, attaches across front of roof line and to each side of roof rail to reduce wind sneaking through sunroof opening
• Splash guards - made of TPO material, gray color to match rear bumper fascia and rocker molding, designed to keep sand, mud, stones and road salt off the VUE
• Rear bumper pad - made of black TPO material, protects finish on top of rear bumper fascia and increases
• traction when standing on top of bumper fascia
• Roof rack cargo box - 16-cubic foot capacity, aerodynamic design, dual side opening, quick-release attachment
• Trailer hitch - Class II hitch with 2,500 lb. towing capacity, 250 lb. tongue weight, designed to receive 1-1/4 inch ball mount
• Hitch mounted bike carrier - attaches to trailer hitch, made of steel tubing that is powder coated in black, equipped with quick-release device, holds up to four bikes
• Body side graphics - made of vinyl, two designs; design #1 is an upper swoosh in multi-color chromaflair, lower swoosh also is multi-color chromaflair with single solid gray stripe down center; design #2 features a large, stylized chromaflair Saturn logo across the rear door and quarter panel.
• Front grille protector - attaches to front of frame and extends in front of bumper fascia
• Side step bars - made of 3-inch diameter clear anodized aluminum, provides easier access to passenger compartment and assists when washing VUE or loading roof rack
• Wheel locks - available with alloy wheels to foil would-be thieves
• Locking gas cap - theft deterrent to stop would-be thieves
• Engine block heater - provides warm engine start-up in cold weather
• Roof rack cross bars - extruded black anodized aluminum channel with plastic stanchions, attach to side rails, adjust to five positions

Roof rack attachments

• Ski attachment - four pairs of skis or two snowboards
• Bike attachment-fork mount - for bike with removable front tire
• Locking cable - secures wheel for fork mount bike carrier and/or bike for either fork or wheel mount
• Bike attachment-wheel holder - use with fork mounted bike to secure front wheel to rack
• Cargo straps - two 11-foot polypropylene straps with heavy duty metal spring buckles
• Bike attachment-upright - wheel mount, vertical support bar attaches to bike's down tube or seat tube
