GMC Partners With "This Old House," America's First Home Improvement Series

DETROIT – GMC, the Professional Grade division of General Motors, today announced its sponsorship with the Emmy award-winning home improvement show "This Old House."

Celebrating its 23rd season exclusively on PBS this fall, “This Old House” features host Steve Thomas and master carpenter Norm Abram. Filmed in Massachusetts, each season covers two renovation projects spanning over 18 half-hour episodes. America’s first home improvement series also celebrates the fusion of old world craftsmanship and modern technology.

“GMC’s Professional Grade positioning is supported by products that exceed expectations. ‘This Old House’ is an industry-leading educational series that certainly represents Professional Grade,” said Lynn Myers, Pontiac-GMC general manager.

GMC celebrates its centennial anniversary this year with the strongest, most capable portfolio in the history of the brand. Since its early days, GMC has focused on trucks and only trucks -- longer than any other automotive manufacturer.

The division’s award-winning products include the Sierra and Sonoma trucks, Envoy and Yukon sport utilities and Savana and Safari vans. Since 1999, GMC has debuted 15 new vehicles.
