Hollywood, Fla. – General Motors Co., Buick and the GM Supplier Diversity Program are among the leading sponsors for the 24th Annual 100 Black Men of America Conference at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Fla.

This year’s conference focuses on “mentoring for a lifetime” by connecting America’s youth with leading entrepreneurs, government officials, educators, clergy, business executives and entertainers.

During the conference, Vivian Pickard, president of the General Motors Foundation and director of Corporate Relations and Grassroots Initiatives for GM, and Rex Blackwell, plant manager of the GM Fairfax Assembly Plant where the Buick LaCrosse is manufactured will speak at the Black Tie Gala Dinner on Saturday.

“At the GM Foundation we encourage employees, dealers and customers to give back to their local communities and to promote 100 Black Men of America’s message of mentoring the young minds to become our future leaders,” Pickard said.

Buick, in participation with 100 Black Men of America, hosted a test drive for conference attendees and the public Thursday with some of Buick’s hottest new vehicles, including the award-winning Enclave crossover, LaCrosse sedan and Regal sport sedan.

Al Dotson, president of 100 Black Men, said of his LaCrosse drive: "It was highly technical, had a smooth ride and was very comfortable."

Said another conference attendee, "This is not my grandfather's vehicle anymore."
