GM Thailand’s donation to Haiti through the Thai Red Cross Society

Bangkok – Ms. Paranee Teerapongsakorn, President of the Woman Council of General Motors Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, as the representative of GM Thailand’s employees, presents the donation of 100,000 baht to help the earthquake victims in Haiti through the Thai Red Cross Society, which is represented by M.R. Priyangsri Watanakun, Assistant Secretary General in Fund Raising & Director of Fund Raising Bureau. The fund was raised from more than 1,700 GM Thailand’s employees as well as the contribution from the Thai media through the charitable auction in the Aveo 1.6 Ride & Drive event in Petchabuiri province.

Chevrolet Colorado wins Best Manufacturing Award for Pro Trucks in Pattaya Pro Racing Series 2009

Bangkok – Mr. Kaher Kazem, Vice President, Manufacturing and Quality, General Motors Thailand, (right), received an award from Mr. Anothai Eiamlamnao, Vice President, GrandPrix International Co Ltd, alongside an American-style Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck, on the occasion of GM’s and Chevrolet Thailand’s winning the ‘Best Manufacturing’ award in ‘Pattaya Pro Racing Series 2009’ land vehicle racing competition.

Asia-Pacific and ASEAN Not Affected by Safety Recalls

Bangkok, 04 March 2010: The safety recalls issued by General Motors Company only affect models sold in the U.S, Canada and Mexico only. Affected models include the Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, Pontiac G4 and Pontiac Pursuit, after issues were discovered with the motor in the power steering system. A total of 1.3 million vehicles are involved.

‘Alternative fuels, the alternatives for life’ win hearts of panel of judges to win a first place in inaugural ‘GM Masterstroke Awards’

Bangkok – GM and Chevrolet Thailand recently announced the names of the winners in its “GM Masterstroke Awards 2009” writing competition, the theme of which was “Environmentally Friendly and Green Automotive Technology”. A prize presentation ceremony was held to mark the event. The article that won the top award in the General Public category was “Alternative fuels, the alternatives for life’’, and the piece entitled “As the world’s vehicles moves towards plug-in electricity, will the Eco-car be a hit in Thailand?” took the No.1 position in the Journalists category .
