New Delhi: General Motors India registered an impressive growth of 34% in sales in July 2011, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 9508 units in July 2011 against 7124 sold in July 2010. The July 2011 sales comprised 5255 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1502 units of Chevrolet Spark, 1707 units of Chevrolet Tavera, 621 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 125 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 123 units of Chevrolet Optra, 113 units of the Chevrolet Captiva and 62 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA.

The all-new Beat Diesel sports the 1.0 XSDE SMARTECH engine developed specifically for India by the GM Technical Centre in Bangalore in collaboration with GM Power-train Europe.

Coimbatore: In its resolve to reach out to its customers, General Motors India today opened a new dealership in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. With the launch of this new dealership along with two workshops situated at different locations in Coimbatore, GM India now has 16 sales points and 16 service outlets in Tamil Nadu taking the overall tally to 242 Sales Points and 242 Service outlets across the country. The new dealership, Pressana Automobiles, showcases the entire range of Chevrolet cars and a wide range of accessories to cater to the needs of its customers.

New Delhi: Leading a ‘tailored for India’ demo program, General Motors India today showcased the Chevrolet Beat Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) as part of the ongoing celebrations of World Environment Day. The demonstration vehicle will be used by GM India to showcase the effectiveness of battery electric vehicle technology in India. GM India engineers will also use the vehicle to address potential cost savings to help make BEVs more affordable for global customers.

General Motors India has successfully conducted Chevrolet U First Camp with multiple services under one roof across all its dealerships in Kolkata and Andhra Pradesh region between 17th June & 19th June, 2011. The key highlights of service camp included free service check-up, discount on parts and labor for all the mechanical jobs undertaken during the camp, and exciting complementary gifts to all. In addition to these, the other services include facility for booking and exchanging cars under Chevrolet certified pre-owned vehicles, test drives of Chevrolet cars and loan facility.

New Delhi: Chevrolet won three top awards in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study (IQS) and Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) 2010 announced by J.D Power and Associates. While Chevrolet Spark bagged the top honors for the Most Dependable Compact Car and the Best Compact Car in Initial Quality, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA won the JD Power Award for the Most Dependable Car in the Premium Compact Car segment.
