The GMC Suburban is a unique, one-of-a kind vehicle that's
targeted at and has appeal to buyers who want vehicle
versatility and capabilities for carrying cargo and up to
nine passengers, as well as trailering.
NEW FOR 1998:
* Autotrac (replaces previous electric shift transfer case)
offers state-of-the-art all-wheel drive (Auto 4 Wheel
Drive) technology in addition to the traditional 2HI,
4HI, neutral and 4LO function of the electric shift
transfer case
* New luxury convenience package (option code ZM9) includes
heated high back front bucket seats, driver and front
passenger side 6-way power seat adjusters, removable
colour-keyed carpeted front, rear and cargo area
floor mats, left and right hand outside rearview electric
mirror with defogger and electrochromic glass; Homelink
3-channel transmitter (programmable garage door opener
and lighting feature), rear air conditioning, 46-mm
Bilstein shocks, remote keyless entry, and Autotrac
on 4-wheel-drive models
* PASSlock(TM) security system added as standard equipment
* Four-wheel-drive front axle actuator (engages/disengages
front axle electronically)
* Inside rearview mirror now includes outside temperature
readout
* Enhancements to automatic transmissions
