The GMC Jimmy compact sport utility vehicle, with its aerodynamic styling
and numerous product features, is a leading contender in the Compact
Sport/Utility market.
NEW FOR 1996:
* Major enhancements to the Vortec 4300 SFI V6 engine features improved
fuel economy, idle stability, starting and driveability
* New all-wheel drive (AWD) system available
* The 4300 features a stiffer powertrain that results in reduced vehicle
noise and vibration
* New Vehicle Control Module (VCM) for improved diagnostic capability and
increased system reliability
* Addition of the brake/transmission shift interlock (on automatic
transmission models) for greater safety
* Aluminized stainless steel exhaust system for longer life
* Improved 4-speed electronic automatic transmission for improved fuel
economy
* Long Life engine coolant that extends service intervals up to as much as
5 years/160,000 km (depending on driving conditions)
* New A/C compressor for reduced noise
