Community Involvement

The only thing that rivals GM’s investment in the innovation of their award-winning products is their investment in corporate citizenship. Not only has the location of the GM assembly plant in Bowling Green, KY, boosted the economy of the region, but also the quality of life. In 2013 alone, GM gave over $215,000 to various community entities throughout the region, including those in arts and entertainment, education and many other sectors. The devotion of the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant to the community of Bowling Green is evident in the numerous awards that the facility has received for its participation in charitable events.

The corporate citizenship of GM extends far beyond monetary donations. GM employees and families are actively involved in organizing and volunteering at charitable events. Teams comprised of GM employees can be found at nearly every fundraising walk that takes place in the area, such as, but not limited to, March of Dimes, Relay for Life, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Buddy Walk. These events are just a small piece of the effort put forth by GM to make their community a better place. Their commitment to making a positive difference is evident in their dedication to countless causes throughout the Bowling Green community.
